Corsa VXR *facepalm*

how much does the corsa vxr weigh?
anything above 1200 kg isnt a hot hatch imho

Eh?

A Megane R26.R weighs over 1200kg.

A Focus RS weighs a lot more than 1200kg

as does the Golf GTI, R32 (just shy of 1600kg....), Civic Type R, Golf R, Astra VXR, Focus ST, Clio 200 (cup and non cup), Megane 250.....well basically all of them.

On the Recaro's, the Corsas are great for a quick hoon but the Astra's are better for actual support (especially the lumbar).

Hot Hatch has nothing to do with weight.

A hot hatchback is a quick version of an ordinary hatchback - a car of two halves. A car that in the morning you can pop to Tesco in, do the shop, perhaps run the kids to school yet in the afternoon you can take it to your favourite B road and give it a damn good thrashing.

The reason the early hot hatches were light was not because this was a hot hatch thing but simply because the cars on which they were based were even lighter.

ergo theyr not proper hot hatches any more people get seduced by big hp without realising the cars are a lot heavier too the focus and the golf are anything but hot hatches

 Both below 7 seconds to 60 and over 140mph. They are also hatchbacks. That to me is a hot hatch.

technically youre correct but how can you tell me with a straight face a car that weighs 1.5 tons bares any resemblence to the spirit of the hot hatch whatsoever (ps i own an r32)

Paradigm get's really offended if people don't have aspirations or ambition, unfortunately their aspirations have to match his.

Breaking 5'5"?

Done it already :p

I agree. His recent atitude i think is why i sometime descend to a similar tone with short remarks. Im glad to see so many comments against his post :)

Cheers

at least its the VXR!

Had a 1.4 design for the day on Weds, what a horrible car. I thought the merc B class was poor, but this was terrible :(
