Well i went and test drove one recently, brilliant car and am very tempted to go ahead and buy it. Been approved on the finance and got enough of a deposit to make it affordable.

Anyone here got one ? Had any problems etc ?

Thanks.

I saw one yesterday.

Looked really nice, it was metallic blue, with very big rims.

The lingering thought i had about it was that money is better spent on another car, though.

Damien i've done a few laps of Thruxton in one. Out of all the cars there (including astra vxr, VXR8 etc...) I really enjoyed it.

This is probably due to my lack of track skills, but I could get the best speed around the track with the corsa which obviously = more fun.

I think they look pretty damn sweet too, go for it! :)

I went to a Vauxhall race day and the car was the 3rd best to drive (behind the 400bhp+ VXR8 and the Astra VXR). Really nice car. Guy at work got one and said it was awesome to drive but sold it pretty shortly after buying it due to worse than expected MPG.

The mpg is pretty insignificant in comparision to the depreciation on a new car ;)

Damien I would be reluctant to finance myself to the eyeballs for a corsa that could only be worth 50% of its value in 3 years - are they giving you a good rate/0% finance?

What about a clio 197 ? I'm sure they tested the VXR and the 197 head to head on 5th gear and the 197 was the better car.

How much is it costing you? I bet you could get a 2nd hand focus st 225 for similar money.

Well im paying them a 5k deposit. Leaving 8k finance, which there doing at 11.7%. Works out about 200 a month for 48 Months.

Thats just an initial figure they've printed off for me, with abit of haggling i can probably get a bit better.

will even the corsa VXR devalue that significantly in 3 years? not so sure myself. Suspect it'll be more desirable than the normal range of corsa's myself

Why do people buy cars like that then whinge about the MPG

Well I think he was expecting it to be bad, but was costing more than he was expecting... maybe believed the manufacturers notes? :P

nice cars but not worth any finance plan surely?

considered getting a second hander with the same performance for your deposit money (5k)?

200 for 48 months... ouch

Focus ST170
Golf/Leon 1.8T
Oct VRS
3 series bm

if i had 5k to spend on a car, they would be on my list

EDIT: actually they would'nt cause of insurance :p

Not what I'd want to spend 13k on.

BMW 330ci or something. Yes it won't be brand new, but it won't be a Corsa!

without a doubt, 5k is vRS money. a few on here have them now, and no doubt they are about as good a buy you can get for 5 grand.

very smart reliable cars with plenty of performance, and thats before you remap it ;) :D
