Corsaie H80i really loud

I received my H80i and it is very loud in my Fractal R4 case.

In fact its soo loud that when i unplugged the 2 fans from the H80i the case was almost silent........

Is there something wrong with my H80i or should i just send back for refund to get something else??

Fractal design Define R4
Intel i7 3770k
Gigabyte z77x-ud5h
Corsair H80i - disappointed
Crucial M4 128gb
Seagate Baracuda 3Tb
Asus Nvidia gtx 650
Corsair vengeance 16gb (2x8) ram

Shouldn't be running at full speed, the default profile should mx somewhere around 1600. Is the pump lit up white? If yes have you installed the CosairLink software?
 
I installed the corsair link and slowed it down to about 600. The noise isn't from the fan. Sounds similar to a old hard disk churning away non stop. Like an old engine. Best way to describe :)

But when I unplug the fans. That stops as well. Does the pump automatically stop when fans are disconnected?

the pump never stops unless it breaks. Default speed for the pump is 2250rpm. The noise could either be air trapped in the pump unit or if not will be cured with the next firmware. May be worth running your system on it's side for a while to purge any air from the system.

In case it's needing the newer firmware, do not flash it just yet. Firmware version 1.0.4 was withdrawn by corsair because it bricked loads of coolers. Wait for the new 1.0.5 firmware to be released, which won't be too long, I've been tipped that it'll be available within the next week.
