Corsair 250D - How powerful could a build be?

Soon I am due to move house, so am thinking of another PC for the spare room for guests and family (and mates for LAN gaming).

I am considering the Corsair Obsidian 250D, partly due to brand loyalty, and also due to the nice looking case and layout (price helps, too). Obviously as this has not yet been released, this may be purely speculative...

What would be the best system that could be made in this?

mITX board - Asus ROG Impact?
GFX - AMD 290X? (will the case allow for 3rd party coolers (dual/triple bays))
RAM is obviously restricted due to space, and motherboard (likely 16GB max).

Would a H100i or equivalent fit in the case too and still provide enough space for 1 Mech HDD and 2 SSD with an optical drive?

You can get a very powerful rig in an ITX case these days. The only real limitation is that you can't use multiple GPUs. Your best best for a GPU would probably be a reference 780(ti). The blower-style cooler will expel air out of the back of the case, rather than dumping it back inside. As the airflow won't be great, that's a good thing.

The Impact has tall heatsinks, but according to Linus' video it will still fit with a h100i in there.

16GB max on the RAM, yes, as ITX boards only have two slots.

It looks like an h100i would block the 5.25" bay, but you should be fine for an HDD and a couple of SSDs.

Yup also keep in mind 4770k is as far as you can go currently with processors as there aren't any LGA 2011 ITX boards although for gaming that really isn't an issue.

I'd say this if you use sensible components.

I don't think I could live with myself spending nearly £3000 on a SFF build!

I like the first build though, and would probably swap out the 780Ti for another exhaust GFX (maybe an AMD card with a decent cooler)

Thanks for the feedback though! :)

At that price just get an SG08. A third the size and will happily take a titan and an i7, plenty of space for a decent cooler a big HDD and two RAID0 SSDs. Job done.

TBH the 250 should fit any build you can put in a BigFenix Prodigy seeing as how they are the same case in a different dress.

There's something about the Silverstone cases that just look a bit cluttered inside. I'm a bit of an airflow obsessive and do like a clear pressure route for air, even when WC (for obvious reasons).

Over half the size and costs £150+ as you have to buy it with the SFX PSU. Also doesn't look as nice and probably not as nice to build in if my SG05 is anything to go by.

They're similar in layout, motherboard going over the PSU etc. but the 250D is a little smaller and has different fan mounts. Looks nicer too, imo.
