I've seen a mod where someone removed the left panel grill (for the air intake) and replaced it with a window.

What thickness acrylic would you suggest for something like this?

Anyone got an idea about the thickness of an acrylic mount point? (for a fan)
Will 3 mm be enough? Or do I need to go to 5?

Never mind, I have purchased some 3mm.

Is there a guide on Window Mods on here?

I used 2mm on my Corsair 500R window. Holds the fans just fine, IMO.

Not sure about a window mod guide, although there are likely a fair few build logs online that would give you guidance.
I just saw a pic of someone else's, altered the design to fit my own ideas and went ahead with it.

Basically, I had the mesh and most of the case angle-ground out, leaving a 5mm lip inside the bracers that secure the panel inside the case frame. This I covered with a strip of rubber u-channel (like you get on car windows) all around the inside. Drill holes for the clear window panel, install with small bolts, cut holes and mounting points for fans, install fans, connect everything up and away we go - Case temperatures are now a good 30ºC lower than before and I can actually *see* all my pritty pritty lights!!
