Hey guys, :)

Im currently trying to overclock my Conroe E6600 to 3.0ghz, and the CPU is fine when i test the stability, but the RAM (on prime and Orthos 2004sp) fails after about 12 seconds.

My RAMs in my sig, i have the timings 4-4-4-12-2, voltage is 2.1v and the DRAM freq is 833mhz because my FSB is set to 333mhz so it changes the RAMs to that.

Any help'd be great guys. thank you.

might be worth loosening those timings to see if it is the ram. 5,5,5,15 or something like that.
If it primes you know you were at the limit and need either more volts or slacker timings.

Hope that helps.

It says on the corsair website that 4-4-4-12-2 and 2.1v is ok though

In my bios i cant get anymore than 2.1v also. Think it may be to do with my motherboard? ASUS P5B?

Hi there your timings "My RAMs in my sig, i have the timings 4-4-4-12-2"
What value does the 2 represent? it's uncommon to see a 2 there The only exception I have seen is on DFI motherboards in one timing.
Try taking the 2 and make it 12-14 that's more like what is normal.
Post back what happens along with what the 2 represents.

ok will do, although i wont respond to this till tomorrow as im off out for the night!

i'll post my findings tomorrow though, thanks for your help! :)

I have the exact same memory and it runs fine at 4-4-4-12 at 2.0V, 3Ghz. Primed for 12 hours straight without any problem (both CPU and RAM stress).
I can't tell what your problem is
I'm sure these rams can handle 3.0Ghz easily at those timings.

Hey Toucam, whats your DRAM frequency too?

and thats the setting for the number after the 12 in the timings?

Thanks mate, im worried i may have some bad RAM :(

Yes, all the timings are exact the same as yours. Try to exchange a new set to see if the problem persists.
