Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator PC2-8500C5 TwinX arrived

I'd lower those timings to atleast 4-4-4-12. Even the Geil pc6400 can run 450Mhz at 4-4-4-12.

For that money I'd hope it would do PC-8000 speeds at 4,4,4,12 at stock voltage & with cas 3 when more voltage is put though it. Otherwise you've paid 100 quid over the odds, imho ;)

It uses the same micron D9 chips as the Gskil, Geil, OCZ etc, just has bigger heatsinks :p

what cooling u use?
I have a 140mm fan blowing over my videocard and ram, i have ordered the Corsair DOMINATOR Airflow Fan,just waiting for it to come in stock.

could you tell me what settings your running your Ram @
I seem to have almost the same setup as yourself.. and am having loads of issues
Windows has been totaly corrupted once (definately due to ram)
When running memtest on some boots its fine.. no errors.. on others 10s of thousands of errors. the ram isnt overclocked in anyway but as i couldnt find the default memory volts ive tried from 2.1 - 2.4 all of which seem to fail

Would appreciate the settings you have used, as im starting to think this memory is faulty.

Cheers

I have not touched my memory apart from one setting, the beta bios opens this up. 4.4.4.12

Download a program called memset, then set refresh cycle time(tRFC) to between 35-40,been reading that this helps to make the ram more stable when overclocking.

Hope that helps :)

cheers for the reply - the Trfc is currently 21 in cpu-z compared to the recommended 30 so ill try that utility out.

Personaly i think the rams running in T1 not T2 mode so its very harsh on the timings if they go over the standard.

I cant seem to find the Command rate option.. might need a bios update :/

Cheers for the response.. ill get this damn thing stable if it kills me ;)

Cheers

Very cool and thanks for posting your results. The Dominators are just getting into users hands so I'm looking forward to some feedback. I have a set to play with but, I don't have a MOBO worthy of them yet.
