Is this stuff good ? for 4x1 configuration on a 680I board ?

im hopeing they will do 4x1 and still run at there stock speeds is this possible or im hopeing to get 4.4.4.8 T1 timeings at 900

do you think these will do it ? im really looking for the fastest ddr2 out there lol

Fastest frequency or fastest timings?

These are rated C5 so I think you could only expect them to run at 5-5-5-18. That said, the timings make very little difference with a C2D.

thanks for your input guys.

Question for you, is it possible to get 4.4.4.8 T1 with these 8x1800Fsb Link and Sync 1/1 @ 900mhz

or better yet has anyone used these before, OCZ 8GB (4x2GB) PC2-6400C5 800MHz Quad Channel Platinum Low Latency XTC Series DDR2 (OCZ2P8008GQ) they have low 5.4.4.15 timeings

is it possible to get these up to 900Mhz @ 4.4.4.8 or lower.
there doesnt seem to be a lot of people going for this 8gig bargin heh

Hello ViRuS2k, it's very unlikely that anyone would be able to tighten the timings of the G.Skill 4GB DDR2 PQ PC2-8000C5 (2x2GB) CAS5 Dual Channel Kit down to 4-4-4-8 with T1. Theirs a possibility that you may be able to get pretty close to 4-4-4-8 with T2. However, I honestly wouldn't worry a great deal as regards to tightening the timings up from 5-5-5-15 to 4-4-4-8 since I would be generally very surprised if you could notice the difference between 5-5-5-15 and 4-4-4-8 in day to day tasks.

If you will be looking at purchasing 8GB of RAM then please take into account that you will have to use a 64-bit Operating System to be able to utilize it all. :)

hi there i will be useing windows vista x64 as i already have that installed.

Currently in my system im useing 4x1 Ocz pc8500 DDR2
what im trying to do though is find faster memory than what i have currently installed

im not getting very good results with these in sandra and everest and im sure 1 stick is faulty heh anyway so you think i wouldnt be able to get lower timeings oh dam heh was hopeing to get 900Mhz with tight timeings DDR2 with a 2x2 kit or 2x4 kit heh

or if possible would that 8gig kit get me anywhere near 1066 stuff with 5.5.5.15 timeings ?

I heard that micron DG Ics are the memory chips to go for

what 2x2 kits have Micron in em

Good stuff. :)

If you already have 4GB of 8500, in all honesty, changing memory purely to make the timings tighter will yield very little performance gain.

im not getting very good results with these in sandra and everest

What a benchmark program reports is very different to what you will be able to notice when using your computer for average day to day tasks.

and im sure 1 stick is faulty

I would double check first by running Memtest with one stick of memory installed in your system at a time.

that 8gig kit get me anywhere near 1066 stuff with 5.5.5.15 timeings ?

The chances of the OCZ 8GB (4x2GB) PC2-6400C5 800MHz Quad Channel Platinum Low Latency XTC Series DDR2 reaching 1066MHz, is extremely unlikely since generally, most of the 2GB sticks out there are very limited in terms of overclocking potential.

what 2x2 kits have Micron in em

If you would like memory that contains Micron D9 chips, than these are the one's to go for. Unfortunately I do not know of any 2X 2GB memory kits that use Micron D9 chips. :)

thanks for your help again mate,

those Micron D9s you linkes to are 2x1 configuration are the balistic tracer micron d9s aswell ? or just the normal balistic also you wouldnt happen to know of any 2x2 kits that use micron d9s ?
and finaly you wouldnt happen to know where i could possibly buy 2x2 or 4x1 pc8500 Muskin from would you ? PM me as i dont want you to post the information on ocuk as its a compeditor thats if you know that is heh

Hello ViRuS2k, unfortunately I do not know of any 2X 2GB memory kits that use Micron D9 chips.

Sorry I should have mentioned the Muskin kit. They seem to be the only memory that comes in the form of 2Gb sticks which overclock fairly well. Though, unfortunately i do not know of which shops specifically sell them. Sorry.

:)

I has them and they were buggy, and 1 of Spreaders was loose and got more loose after use.

Paid £370 and got a full refund.

ohh well i guess i cant do more research im looking for something that i think is impossible to find problem is when your viewing benchmark threads you see a lot of people with impossible timeings and clocks lol

i did make sure to look for the people on air heh and on the same mobo i have

i guess its really a gamble lol

might just go for that 8gig kit and run them stock and forget about it heh everyone knows anyway that cpu and gpu are the most important things to clock for gameing and everything else heh
