Good timing, I've been pondering about my 300R fans recently.
I have a H80 going into the rear of the case so the 120mm will be removed, the 140mm up front is a bit too noisey when everything is idle so was contemplating replacing the 140mm with the 120mm upfront. Will that have a big effect on temps do you think?
(sorry for the hijack but I think the OP has been answered?)
Ooh and another 'whilst I think of it', how do you get to the front fan and dust filter, do you have to take the whole front panel off by removing those allen key bolts?
On the 300r the whole front panel just pulls off. The Allen bolts are fake. The panel is held in place by four metal tension clips. Be careful pulling it off as the top part can catch on the DVD drive (if you have one).
Also the dust filters in the front panel are not removable in any easy way. Only the bottom psu filter actually comes out. You CAN (if you really want) remove the front filters as they are held in place by the wire mesh (the mesh is bent over the edges of the filters) but I doubt, with metal fatigue, you would be able to bend them back and forwards many times without breaking the metal mesh.
