Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 PC2-6400C5 TwinX (2x2GB)

800MHz RAM Speed, CAS 5-5-5-18 Timings, 1.8-1.9v VDIMM, Lifetime Warranty with Corsair

hi this memory still ok for a Q6600 1066mhz and a 8800gtx or will memory hold back my overclocking potential

whats the fastest memory you guys would recommend? :)

They should allow the cpu to clock to 3.6, and maybe alittle more. i got the black dragon kit, and I've managed to get them to 1000, memtest stable and prime stable. I've not tried them any further.

I would expect the corsair to hit the high 800's and with luck, beyond. But again 2 x 2gig kit's don't clock as well as 4 x 1 gig kits.

Hey rippling, it all depends. If you are not looking to overclock your Q6600 above 3.6GHz then the Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 PC2-6400C5 TwinX (2x2GB) will be absolutely fine. :)

cheers m8 i dont think i will get my q6600 to clock much higher anyways , i have 2 x 1 gb of the same memory atm and that runs at 1000 if i get a new mobo could i put this in with my 2 x 1gb memory and have 6 gb? lol

Hello rippling, that should be perfectly fine. However, you will have to run your 2X 1GB memory kit at 800MHz to match the speed of that of the Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 PC2-6400C5 TwinX (2x2GB) memory.

Having said all that though, if you are only using a 32-bit Operating System then installing any more than 4GB in your system will be pointless.
