What is this thing like powering something like say Quad Core + 2x 3870 X2's (Or those nvidia ones).

Realise quad graphics is a bit of a stretch just curious. Obviously be fine with a single dual gpu card right?

Well from the ATI website it states:

* 550 Watt or greater power supply with two 2x3-pin PCIe® power connectors required (750 Watt and four 6-pin connectors for dual ATI CrossFireX™)

So that's a no! but single card, I think it would deal with it fine!

It will be fine for a single card but i think 2 would be a bit to much for it, although its a cracking PSU and has been known to run SLI 8800GTX

I have this PSU and fully recommend it. I only have 1 graphics card though so can't comment on that part. I would play it safe and go with the 750w version in the link above.
