Corsair 540 Fan Setup Help

So I decided when I order this case that I am going to remove the stock fans and replace them with Corsair Air Series AF140's Red Led, so that would be x1 rear and x2 front.

My main question then is as I also decided to go with the H100i which would be positioned at the top, could I fit another 2 of the 140mm AF140mm fans at the top?

See I decided to put a bit more money into this for cooling and looks but as you may know from my recent posts have never done water cooling or used an AIO liquid cooler. Therefore I don't know how I could add 2 extra AF140 fans at the top? Would I just screw them into the case like normal and the H100i sits underneath them, or do I put the fans directly onto the H100i, does it come with fittings for extra fans etc?

Simply put, I want the H100i at the top of the case, but I also want two of those AF140 led fans at the very top to add some lighting and better cooling but I don't want to order more fans then I need if it cannot be done.

Does anyone have any experience with this case or type of setup?

Hope this is clear thanks.

I think you'd struggle. Here's mine with the H100i and the fact it doesn't fill the void makes me think not easily.

Also at the rear of my 540 is an AF140 led fan that was pointless buying as the led strip swamps it but I do prefer the strip casting red light from front to back.

Nice pics :)

I had hoped there would be a bit more room at the top though.

You need 2 x 120mm's for the top of the H100i.

So are you saying 120mm's would fit just not the 140mm's?

Would a different fan choice be any help here, ie a slimmer one then or would 2 AF120's squeeze in above the H100i? The AF120's and AF140's are 25mm in depth I believe.

Looking from ElliorR's photos doesn't look like any fans would fit at the top above the H100i but it is always hard to tell from a picture.

If anyone has managed to fit any in please share photos :p

Thanks :)

A pair of 140mm's would block the screws for the H100i (2 x 120mm screwholes). Even though the AF brings 140mm and 120mm screwholes, the frame is bigger and so two of them cannot be placed in adjoining 2 x 120mm mounts.

You'd have to detach the H100i, and place the fans under the case's top fan/rad mounting. I don't think there is any room for the fans on top of the mounting. Wait for more feedback though.

Sorted my watercooling situation in the end, FINALLY decided to just go for it and will get one of the XPSC RayStorm kits and do it myself :)
