Got one of these this morning after my Enermax died in a puff of smoke yesterday (just what I need with the amount of uni work I have to do for tomorrow)

Got it running the system in my sig (Q6600 @ 3.6). Fairly steady load using 3dsmax, and the psu itself is quite hot. Yet the span is spinning very slow, can't feel much heat coming off of the back though. The top of the psu is hot to the touch, not hot enough to be uncomfortable on the palm of your hand, but hotter than I'd like it to be after my Enermax died yesterday and was also very hot :s

Also one of the PCIe cables that came with it doesn't fit into the powersupply properly, the clip on it is too wide to go in :s
Luckily the Enermax ones work fine.

I got this card to replace an Enermax Liberty 500w PSU.

I am a bit concerned however as I have read some reports about the Corsair failing.

Is the Corsair better than the Enermax?

Cheers.

As with everything in life, there will always be the odd one of a good thing that fails. As the Corsairs are just rebadged Seasonics they should be of pretty high build quality.

I have just purchased the 620W and find it doesnt get particularly hot, very happy so far.

Improvised for the meantime, hanging a fan below the psu blowing into it, running cool now.
Looks like I'll be returning it next week.
