Hi everyone,

Thinking about getting new case. At the moment I have a Raven 2 which is a a great chassis with excellent cooling. However, I have found it is just too big. Subsequently, it spends all of its time on the floor, under desk, and all the hours of painstaking modding is hidden away. I would like my work on show and enjoyed.

Stumbled upon the Corsair 650D the other day. Seems it has a nice blend of style, size and functionality. Not too sure about the rubber edge window but I could live with that. According to reviews, the 650D will run slightly warmer than the Raven 2 but I am not running a dual GPU setup.

To help me in my decision I would be grateful for any 650D owners to give me their thoughts on the case or if there are better alternatives which I might have missed. My requirements are: excellent cable tidy, black interior, mid-tower.

Thanks in advance.

Not an owner but the Corsair 600T looks like a fantastic case with better cooling. The D cases seem to be more optimised for water-cooling whereas the 600T is all about air :).

Also the new white 600T has looks to die for imo.

I have the 600t and love it.

Air cooling is not great but does for my needs. As for cable management and building a system in - it's fantastic and easy.

The fans aren't great but I did read Corsair are planning on releasing better ones in the future - additional cost though.

I will be ordering the 600t white edition when it finally arrives :D

The white version comes with improved intake and top exhaust fans running at 1000rpm(800rpm in the original 600t).

you can also replace the rear exhaust fan with one of these (or similar)as i plan to do.

650D and 600T are built on the same skeleton, the Corsair reps on other forums will confirm this. There is negligible difference in airflow performance, any measured temperature differences will only be seen according to the system components and fan configuration.

As OP identifies, there are better performing air cooling cases, but 650D/600T is good enough. The 650D is a smart looking case, no reason not to buy if you like it.

I just bought a 650D two weeks ago and I love it.
Stacks of room, and plenty of cabling options.
I wanted the extra bit of height so if i decided to water cool at a later date i could put a 240mm rad in the top.
Its a very well built case and looks very nice imo. Im not a fan of these big garish/rugged cases like the HAF X etc. I prefer something with a sleeker look.
My only small complaint is that i wish the room behind the motherboard tray was a little deeper.
Although i suspect that its mostly my fault for not using a modular power supply.

Im using stock cooling right now for both the case and my 2600k (yeah i know) which is running at 4ghz (until i get a better cooler)
CPU idle temps are 35-36c, chasis temp is 26c.

Happy to take pictures if you need any.

Thanks for all the comments. I think I will stick with the Raven 2. The 600T looks like a very nice case. However, the cooling in the RV02 is superior and it would seem like a step back going with the 650D or 600T in that respect. Perhaps I will wait for the next wave of Corsair cases to see what they come up with. Maybe they will address some of the airflow issues that have been reported on some review sites.

Don't know if I should stick with this though.

It is a nice case for sure and I have the very same case but on my Asus motherboard the graphics card fowls the hard drive cage and optical bays which is a bit of a nightmare.

Just out if interest what is your cpu cooler and shouldn't it be ideally exhausting out the top.

Not sure what you mean to be honest. There is an exhaust fan in the roof of the case.

The cooler is a Noctua NH-C12P SE14.

Temps are excellent all round.
