Hey there - I've just finished my latest build (BF3 ready i hope :)). My awesome rig resides in the beautiful case that is the Corsair 650d.
However i have noticed something that is slowly driving me insane. The top 200mm fan is really really noisy. I've installed the fan kit and swapped the screws for the silicone ones which did fix the fan controller hum.

But this is different, after a while you can see the fan start wobbling about and the sound is sooooooo annoying!
A slight tap to the top of the fan, and the sound is gone... for a few minutes :(

SO i figured, lets turn a bad situation into a good one... swap the 200mm for two good 140mms.
I'm thinking two fractal-design 140mms, and maybe swap the 120mm out the back as well :)

A good choice? :)

For now a t-shirt mutes the sound enough... for now.........

Yes actually i think i will get the akasa 'venom' fans, as I have two on my cpu so the theme will look nice :).

I have a couple of questions if you don't mind. I plugged one of my cpu fans into the CPU_FAN on my mobo, and the 2nd into a CHA_FAN. Now they are both working just great but i've noticed the chassis one runs faster. Should i of split the CPU_FAN for both.

Next question is - The rest of my case fans are currently 3-pins running into the 650d fan controller (with fan kit installed). The akasa fans im after are 4-pins. Would i be safe to split a 3-pin on the fc into 3x 4-pins for my new fans :)

Sorry but this stuff confuses me ;)

OK, i have noticed that the fans are 3/4 pin so i could use them in the 3-pin fan controller directly but how would i plug them into a male plug that has the plastic shield on it?

Seems like its enforcing 3-pins only which seems a bit backwards :(
