Hi guys!

I'm starting the final leg of my journey to build a long lasting gaming rig (hehe, I may upgrade to dual S2011 next year for PCIe v3 slots/SATA 3 ports/USB3 ports; so not that long lasting.) This is my very first custom watercooling build, having dipped my toes and been impressed with various watercooling AIO devices I've decided to proceed with creating my first custom loop.

Currently my PC is is housed in the 750D and is running on air cooling. Part of the issue with that is that I can't run both of my GPUs because the top GPU can't breath during gaming, down clocking to 501MHz whilst running at 100°C.

A quick run down of the PC in its current state:
Motherboard: Intel S5520SC
CPUs: 2x X5650
Memory: 18GB(3x4GB and 3x2GB) Kingston HyperX Genesis PC3-12800 DDR3
GPUs: Asus HD7970 DirectCU II TOP 3GB
VTX R9-280X 3GB
SSD: Crucial M4 256GB (Too small these days, 500GB is probably a minimum)
HDDs: 2x 2TB Samsung Spinpoint
PSU: Corsair RM1000 Gold
Case: Corsair Carbide 750D and stock fans

The kit; most of it being Christmas presents from my partner and my family:

So far it has taken about 45 minutes to fit the pumps to the reservoir as I'm fairly paranoid about getting this right first time.

Next up, tomorrow morning, is going to be stripping down the VTX and putting the full-cover waterblock on it.

This isn't going to be a quick process, but I'm hoping to keep the updates nice and regular*.
I've still got a couple of things to be delivered before I can even complete the build (thankfully I've got them coming from OcUK on Monday,) and I'm really time poor.**

So, for today, I've installed the GPU block on my VTX R9-280X.

Apply the thermal pads and some more thermal paste
(Don't worry, I removed most of that; the tube split)

I've gone a couple of days without a post as I need to get myself to Halfords to get some deionised water; which is going to be a Saturday morning job.

I'm going to boil it to flush my radiators before I go about putting the rest of the loop together; I've got some Mayhem's pure H2O for filling the loop. In the mean time, I've received the last of the parts that I need (so just the trip to get the water is holding me up) and I've fitted the single plexi bridge to the R9-280X.
