Corsair 750D Optimal Fan Setup? Help!

Hi all,

Im thinking of getting a Corsair 750D case for my new build (planned specs below), but with so many options Im a bit confused about the best fan configuration! Whether to go with static pressure or air flow fans, push pull, create positive or negative air flow etc!

I will be using a H100i CPU water cooler which looks easiest to install at the top. Looking at some benchmarks it seems best to use in a Push-Pull configuration with a total of four 120mm fans. I dont require any of the hard drive trays at the bottom so can be completely removed to reduce any air resistance from the front fans then install an additional 120mm fan for extra cooling. As well as gaming, I do a lot of 3D rendering which is very CPU intensive so need good cooling but dont want it to be too noisy.

Here is a quick labelled diagram I created from a photo I found online of the various fan types and sizes I intend to use. I like the style of the 'Corsair Air Series' fans. Does this look sensible??

Thanks for any advice :D

The 2 AFs you have on that rad, change to SPs.

Personally, I'd run SP fans all over because I think case grilles etc are restrictive and require some SP to get air through them.

Personally, if you are going to put the panels back on, i'd probably have the top fans and rear exhaust act as intakes with the front twin 140s and as exhaust, as the front panel is fairly restrictive when pulling in air, otherwise, having it in your current configuration with the panels off should be fine... but that's my own opinion/configuration

Thanks for the replies.

Yeh thats what I had initially, but then saw a benchmark video by Linus and seemed that push-pull with AF and SP fans did the best. Only marginally though!

Do they actually make SP140s then? Cant seem to find them anywhere!

That is a similar set up to what I was aiming for except my cooler is a H90 so was going to have that mounted in push pull at the rear rather than up top.

Thanks for the replies.

margin of error and I wouldn't bother with push pull unless I had a thick rad. Push & pull vs pull/push performance is also marginal

for mine

Intake
front 2 fans (corsair standard running at 7v)
bottom Fans 2 120mm Noctua running at 7v

Exhaust
1x 140mm Noctua running at 7v

with this setup clean lines of fresh air

CPU temp at load 50C (with 2 cpu fans running at 7v)
7990 GPU 75c

Mine is set as: (though still testing for best setup)

Intake:
3x120mm Noiseblockers with an EK radiator in Push config up top
1x140mm Noiseblocker rear

Exhaust
4x140mm Noiseblocker in Push/Pull config for the front

Once i get the average temps of this config, i'll be doing the direct opposite configuration
