I am looking to buy practically a whole new computer and on the list for ym new computer is 2 new lovely graphics cards to run in SLI. I have never ran any cards in SLI before as i have only ever had the one GPU in my motherboard at any given time. But this time i am going for it.! Now the GPU i really want is the XFX 9800 GTX and this require 2 x 6 pin PCI-e power supply per card. Now even though the PSU does have 4 x 6 pin PCI-e power supplys i dont think it will be enough to power both cards and the rest of the PC.

What do you guys think?

Welcome to the forums. I'd go with easily enough as I don't think the 9800GTX is much more powerhungry than the 8800series and that has been demonstrated multiple times working on an HX 620w PSU. I don't know what else you are running in your system so I'm just assuming dual/quad core, 2-4 sticks of Ram and a few hard drives, if you are way over that then I might revise my opinion.

Thankyou =) Yeah well i was thinking of going for 2 x 2gig sticks of ram, dual core processor, 1 hard drive and then 2 x 9800gtx. Have you got any suggestions of a better PSU that wont be a huge amount more expensive?

Hello Brammo, for the system that you have mentioned, the Corsair HX 620W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU will be absolutely fine. However, I believe that particularly unit only comes with 2 PCI-Express power cables and you will need 4. Now, you could always ask Corsair to ship you a couple of extra cables which I'm sure they will be happy to do. You may find this thread here helpful.

If you don't really want to go through with waiting for the extra cables, then the Corsair TX 750W ATX2.2 SLI Compliant PSU will be perfectly fine which will come with the correct number of cables. Either of the two power supply units will be fine though. :)

Wow thanks to both of you guys you have been a real help i think i am definitely gonna stick with the TX 750W. Cheers guys.
