hi all, just wandering if anyone has any suggestions for extra cooling in a corsair 800d, it is currently standard in configuration with the exception of 1 x 120mm fan at the top,

i have a 3930 with phanteks cooler and 2 x gtx 480 sli, and the gpus lately have been getting way too hot,got as high as 97 last night, so i had to open up the side and then they run at 72,

so firstly is it worth replacing the stock fans for better ones
secondly i have 3 bays free at the front, can i get a front bay intake system for an 800d
thirdly should i just add more fans to compliment the current ones,

any suggestions other than the above would also be appreciated.

If the gpus have been reaching such temperatures, I would probably sugest you check the SLI connections and re run the setup, secondly dust off those GPU fan's as they can accumulate a layer of dust that will cause the fans to run to high, creating temps as they are struggling to cool the gpu's down. the default cooling configuration of the Corsair 800D should easily cope with cooling without any addition

The 800D isn't brilliant for air cooling, you def need a intake fan at the bottom and then a fan on the midplate to bring some air in to the main area.

Post a pic up of the system as is.

this is what i have done for now, i have put a 120mm fan at the front, and it is making a very big difference, i just need to make it look tidy and secure it down somehow.

i have also noticed that i have 1 fin missing on my 140mm fan at the bottom of my case, so maybe this has made enough of a difference to raise the temps, i did go to a computer fair on saturday to buy some cheap 120mm fans to add cooling but there was hardly anything there and no one selling fans, so didnt get any, might have to take a trip to ocuk this week.
