Corsair 800D or 650D?

How was it possible to mount a fan in front of the graphics cards? Is there a mount for it or was it a modification?

By the looks of it he is using the rubber anti vibration rivets, and from looking at the photo there are 101 holes. So im guessing he just lined the fan up with the holes and places the rubber rivet thing through.

I would love a 650D but could not bring myself to purchase one until they update the front usb3.0 to internal headers - I would just regret it I know it.:D

If your motherboard comes with a PCI bracket for the USB 3 ports, you can just remove the PCI bracket, plug the cables into the ports on the bracket and then hide it behind the motherboard and it's basically all internal then anyway.

I'd have a play with the fan setup, I know normally top fans are for exhaust, but in this case there isn't really a ton of incoming air, I could barely feel any air coming out of the exhaust fans at all, I swapped the top fans to intake and temps have dropped and there's a lot more air coming out of the exhaust fan at the back.

Unboxed the 650D and ready to take home, the joys of having no boss at work :p

Had a play and actually did the first mod to it, a simple one but effective.

It's amazing how massive it is for a midi tower too o.0

Mod:

I noticed there's a mm sized gap between the PSU dust guard and the end of the rail so dust could get in via there so I nabbed some padded foam strips from work and created a cushion to dust proof that gap:

Also love the microswitch power button...of all things.

One of the best things about the case is the pre-installed standoffs and the middle plastic standoff that holds the board perfectly in place whilst you screw the board in, makes the build so much easier.

The power LED is really bright, so I don't bother having mine connected.

Agree about that middle standoff, I didnt actually notice it until my motherboard just slid onto it nicely.
Also, looking at the single HDD cage in my 600T, on top there looks like a real nice place to sit a 2.5" SSD, could just stick it on there with some low tack pads or something....

The drive cages support 2.5" SSDs natively, just remove the right pin from the cage and screw it in using the screws you get with the cage.

I just ordered the 800D.

My reasoning is that im water-cooling it all and ill need the extra space.

I didn't even like these cases at first and somehow they have just grown on me. Ive seriously fallen in love. They are amazing.

I like how easy the front fan case can come off on the 650D. Makes cleaning the filter so much easier (which is good in my book).

Im not gonna use the easy access bays on the 800D so id have rathered a similar feature as the 650D front fan but whatever... Awesome cases!

The 700/800D is a great case especially when combined with a H50 type cooler, you wont be disappointed.

The 650D intake fan is pants, it's way too loud even on lowest so I'm buying a Coolermaster mega-flow 200mm tomorrow rated at 19dBA \m/

Everything else is fine though, I have the top 200mm fan running at 50% power and the idle temps have dropped several degrees as well so all is good.
