Corsair A50 and Core i5 2500K. ;S

Hello,

I recently bought an i5 2500k and a Corsair A50. I am planning to overclock the CPU. I also have the zalman z9 plus. My case has four pre-installed fans in place.

I realise it will be different for everyone but what sort of overclock could I achieve with this fan? I would like to get it to 4.5GHz with temps of about ~68C. Too optimistic?

Temperatures might differ a little bit at that clock. I would say something in the mid 70's at full load, but nothing to worry about.

You could probably push to around 4.7GHz without any temperature problems.

Oh nice. Should I stick to around about 4.5GHz? I am really worried that I could fry the chip, something might blow, or that my CPU won't last a year at that speed.

Sorry for the excess worrying but this is my first desktop build. :(

Intel cpu's are good to around 80, only above that will you start to damage them i think .
CPU's are very tough these days and I have not heard anything about these i5's failing when OC'd, look at the sandybridge 5Ghz club. A lot of those are i5 2500K's that run at 5 ghz with no problems

People run theirs at 5GHz+.

Just don't go above 1.38V on the VCore and don't let temps go above 80 and you will be fine. :)
