I've more or less decided on this case for my next build to feature the asus impact mini-itx mobo, 4790k, H75 (initially, will upgrade to h100i in due course).

I am having trouble getting definitive answers on what gpus will and won't fit in the case.

I would like to go for a gtx 980 or 970 card but available information appears to contradict what will and won't fit. I'd like to get the gigabyte sniper g1 980 but it claims to be 300mm due to the wind force x3 cooler. Could I chop off the protruding end of the cooler cover to make it fit?

Thank you and I have seen that already however that usually isn't the definitive answer as for example I know that some cards with non reference coolers still have clearance issues with protrusions such as heat pipes.

Looking at the pictures of the g1 gigabyte card, it looks as if the wind force cooler could be modded to fit if the cooler shroud was modded leaving the heat pipe ends exposed as the longest part of the card.

Also in the carbide air 240s case, what is it specifically that prevents cards longer than 290mm from being fitted, and can I mod the case to allow an extra 10 or more mm? ie, is it the chassis bulkhead or a protruding part of the frame?

Vortez.net appear to show no obstructions until the intake fans on the front part of the case up to approx 320mm which would allow the 3x wind force coolers to fit. I wonder if Corsairs claim of 290mm limit is with a front mounted 240mm rad/fan combo.

Can anyone with this case comment with definitive measurements from rear io plate to the front most limiting protrusion please?
