So just now my PSU started to make the noise I recorded. I bought it from ocuk in november but I presume I am going to have to go back to the manufacturer?

I think I will RMA it then sell it what are the recommendations for another 650w PSU? I'm not sure I want another of these after reading others with similar issues.

Stop banging it that won't help. You'll end up cracking a solder connection.

The issue is the fan. You have the fan with the blade part pulling itself away from the body causing that sound. When he said flip it he means rotate it so that the fan is facing upward. I can't see why your case would stop you doing that. That will then let the fan lean down onto the motor, stopping that sound.

You could also replace the fan yourself. Corsair (especially in those PSUs) use cheap fans. Replacing it with a half decent fan costing a tenner would resolve your issues completely. Personally I would not even bother RMAing it because the postage alone will cost you what you could pay to repair it.

Thanks I was only banging it to prove for future returns issues that it was the psu causing the noise :)

Do you have any links to fans I could put in? The reason I was considering RMA is because if pull it apart and something else goes wrong then I guess my warranty is void :)

I didn't think he meant flip it upwards because he mentions it not being ideal for cooling and I maybe wrongly presume upwards is best for cooling :)
