Is this PSU adequate for a Phenom II 965 stock and a HD 4850 overclocked?, there will be no CPU/GFX upgrades down the line, so I don't need any headroom

As above, but headroom is always good. Think of it this way, say you want to add another/more hard disk(s)? It could workout more expensive if you find the PSU can't handle such a simple/cheap upgrade.

Recommend you try stretching to this
