Got a brand new mouse after musing it for well over a year to replace my 9+ year old Logitech G602.

Seriously.. how after decades of having a scroll wheel can they screw this up?

1) Doesn't always scroll
2) Scrolls wrong way sometimes before going the right way
3) Seems to 'queue up' incorrect scroll commands
4) Scroll speed is awful and even after changing the number of lines in windows it is still poor. There is no scroll control in the Corsair software.

Side note: Battery life is freaking terrible. 3 to 5 days before needing to plug in.

Reading around.. seems like a common issue. I might uninstall the Corsair software and try using it as a normal mouse and see what happens. I'm guessing it is software related not hardware.

Anyone else had issues with Corsair scroll wheels?

Well... I actually had this replaced after around 20 days. Got a brand new mouse of the same type to replace it.

One month later... this mouse is starting with the same fault. Unreal. It isn't like it's a cheap mouse.

Pfft. Think I'll have to go back to Logitech.

I don't think Corsair are known for their build quality in mice tbh, seems more of a side project for them. Can't go wrong with Zowie if you want the best build quality.

I opened her up last night, and tried to rinse out the encoder with alcohol. It worked good for about 20 minutes. Then started it's BS again.

Since I just can't be bothered to deal with an RMA, and I'd otherwise just smash this damn thing with a mallet, I've bought a TTC gold 10mm encoder to replace the original. Will see if this fixes the issue so I can at least use it with my Legion Go.

(As an aside, I've also bought a new microswitch for my 9+ year old Logitech G602, since that occasionally doesn't click. Love that mouse).

Well I admit defeat. Managed to completely bork the removal of the old encoder, and knocked off the tiniest component I have ever seen on a device. Not even the size of an ant.

Threw the mouse out since the scroll no longer worked lol. This was the time where I should have used the RMA, but was too irritated.lol.

Sometimes things aren't as easy as you first thought. In this case getting the encoder out even after cutting the legs was a nightmare.
