Corsair ddr2 6400 and Asus P5B setup

Hi

I just upgraded to this lot last week

Asus P5B i965
Intel E4300 Core2Duo CPU - Stock cooler
Corsair TwinX 1GB DDR2 6400 (800mhz) CAS 5-5-5-15
500G WD SATA2 Hard drive



I was wondering a couple of things that I cant seem to find searching the forums.

1...On the mobo there are 4 dimm slots, 1 black and 1 blue for channel A and the same for channel B. At the moment I have put a 512 module in each blue slot on diff channels. Is this the best way to run them or should I have them side by side in either Channel A or Channel B?

2...Whats this dual channel mode I hear about? No mention of it in the mobo book

If you want them to run in dual channel then either put them both in blue or both in black - this is usually the case anyway. When your pc 'posts' it should tell you whether your memory is running in dual channel or not. If there is not mention of this, once in windows download cpu-z and that will tell you whether you have them in the right banks for dual channel.
