Which Corsair RAM should I purchase for the best performance? i5 2500K CPU and Gigabyte Z68 motherboard, purpose of the build is for 1080p movies and gaming, haven't thought of which CPU cooler to go for.

Dual channel as of 2x4GB is good?

It would also help if you stated the specs. of the system this is for.

And buying RAM with tall heat spreaders, like the old style Corsair Vengeance, is bad if you have a large CPU cooler as the cooler can stop the RAM from fitting (or vice versa).

What's the difference between Dominator, Vengeance, and XMS RAM?

they over clock really well is one the reasons i love it so much and since your getting a 15 2500k these would partner it very well also looks sweet XMS3 looks cheap in comparison

xms3 cheap and cheerfull and they are low profile, incase you get a big cooler

So theres no difference between the 3 kind of Corsair RAM?

Also the low profile RAM has no difference to others just the top is lower?

low pofile ram sits lower in the socket so yes the top is lower as for ram, ram is pretty reliable these days regardless of brand the main difference is how it looks and how much voltage it likes to run at typically its 1.65v. Ultimately the difference are pretty small and usally boils down to preference or looks either way with 2 stick you dont really need low profile as is is very unlikely the cpu cooler will stretch over 2 ram slots mine goes over one.

So pretty much if you have multiple ram in mind go with the one you think looks best. All three linked and the one i linked will perform very well.
