Hi Guys

I currently have 4 gb Corsair Dominator ddr2 1066mhz like this

No hotlinked images. Thank you.

and was thinking of getting either another 2gb or 4gb, but I have seen its pretty difficult to find any decent ddr2s for a reasonable price and the stock is pretty low as well, so I am wondering if e.g. these rams would work well with the ones I have at the moment?

Corsair XMS2 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C5 TwinX Dual Channel (TWIN2X4096-6400C5C) [TWIN2X4096-6400C5C]

You would have to start off with the voltages of the Dominators and the timings of the XMS2 then find the best timings. Should work fine though. I mixed 1066MHz reapers with 1150, work fine at 5-5-5-18 2.2v or so in my friends pc, and she has no problems for over a year.

5-5-5-18 2.0V they would probably run fine.

right, afaik all settings in BIOS are on auto/default in the memory section, so would I still need to modify anything?

I doubt it, your motherboard would probably set them both with loose timings and voltage. If they are unstable you would need to add voltage or loosen the timings yourself, but thats easy as you know which timings to use pretty much. Your ram probably running off the SPD which will be the factory clocks and voltage for compatibility.
