Just about had enough of this POS, I have recently noticed my computer getting louder and louder, a horrid grinding noise during use and very loud whine/squealing from the cooler in the first 20 seconds of startup (time taken for the asus aiquiet setting to kick in.)

Unplugged it and wow. All the noise stops and my machine goes back to being near silent.

Utter junk considering how long I have had it, I don't know if i can get the thing replaced but I will certainly be advising and using the OCZ memory cooler in the future builds and when I pass out advice.

Has anyone got one or have/had any experience with them?

What the above thing?

Well it's gonna be noisy it's got 3 small fans which means annoying high pitch noise if they spin at a decent rate!!

A £1 120mm FAN running at 6-8v blowing over the ram would probably be more effective and certainly miles quieter not to mention a shed load cheaper!!

You seemed to have missed the point of my post, when I first bought it, it was quiet and didn't make any grinding noises, vibrate or anything, now after what must be 1-2 months of use (not 24/7) the thing is audible over the whole machine and makes a wide variety of very irritating and loud whining noises.

Then I would question it's effectiveness as those size fans cannot help but make annoying high pitch noises at rpms that generate decent air movement.
But yeah if it's performing/acting significantly different to when you first bought it then your are totally within your consumer rights to return it for replacement! (Although I bet the same thing happens again :( )

Personally I would return it for a refund and lash a 120mm blowing over it at low rpm.

I have the OCZ twin fan one and it's great. Looks good in chrome with blue led's and is quiet and problem free so far. Got it back in January for only £8.95 from elsewhere. I have it angled so it blows air towards the chipset as well.
