Hey, built up my new rig with 2gig of corsair dominator PC2-6400, with my EVGA 680i, and i noticed the timings are lower than recomended, they are 5-5-5-18, i was wondering if i would i should put them to the reccomended speed? also i have OCed my e6700 to 3.0Ghz, so should i leave them?

Any help will be appreciated, thanks :)

you should put them to what the recomended. the fast ram normaly defualts to a lower setting and requires you to change it. also check the volatge as the default voltage may be lower than it recomended aswell.

If you are overclocked on the RAM front, then it may be slightly more complicated. Best in that case to test for stability, then slowly drop the timings, testing as you go, untill you find the lowest "stable" values.

Of course, if you are running at stock..... you dont have to bother, just pud in the recomended timings and leave it (though you might want to stability test anyway to make sure the RAM is good)

You should have them set @ 4-4-4-12,thats the default settings for them, mine are sitting @972Mhz using these timings with my 6300 now. But they happilly do over 1000Mhz :D
