Hi all, just building the new pc, and just wondering from those of you who have already installed this memory, how tight was the aircooling fans(included) onto the memory?

It's pretty tight on mine, except moving horizontally, you can just slide it out(not that it matter because im using a tower, but its worrying)

i tried the cooling fans and they were very loose, i could slide them off to the side when they were fully clamped.

tbh it really depends on what cpu cooler ** using (as with my arctic 7 it blocked air flow) and in my case (antec 900) there is boat loads of air flow so putting the bulky fans in the way just ruins it.

if u have poor air flow i guess use it if not dont bother or buy one of the bendy clip on case fans OCuk do.

I have the dominator ram on a Rampage Formula with the TRUE heatsink, i tried the fans but found them a little whiny and it got in the way of the CPU intake fan.

After removing it the CPU temp was better by a degree or two, the noise level went down and the ram is now cooled by the air dragged across it by the CPU fan. It still isnt even luke warm when i've overclocked it to 3.8 with 2.1v through it. Wouldnt worry to be honest.

the corsair ram is good but dominator fan is useless and blocks airflow, i removed mine. maybe get corsair ram without fan if you can get cheaper

If you want to put RAM cooler, try OCZ XTC. Looks shiny and bling too
