Just a quick question, I've heard that the heat fins on this RAM are incredibly easy to remove, just leaving the heat spreaders attached to effectively turn it into low profile ram. Curious how much truth there was in this? I'd prefer Dominator to, say, XMS3 if its true. Especially with them being a similar price

Just to clarify, I dont mean remove the heat spreaders from the ram sticks, just unscrew the fins from the top.

Cheers

A slightly lower profile in my case, there was a noctua heatsink i still could not fit over the zif (cpu) socket because the dominator modules were still too high.

Ah, it's not the heatsink that's the issue, more the heatsink fan. It fits fine over my current crappy naked ram and there's a decent clearance, I just know for a fact it wouldn't fit ram with heatsinks like Dominator as standard, unless I got creative with cable ties.

Plus CAS9 dominator is only £5 more than XMS3, so good to know it should fit!
