Sounds good on face value but if your PSU fails 9 years down the line they can just give you 10% of the original purchase price and send you on your way :) Worth noting.

Any company that "honours" a warranty in that way would have their reputation in tatters very rapidly. It would spread like wildfire and their psu's would no longer sell. That would be a extremely underhanded way to deal with a warranty claim. I could see a retailer (Scam, Bolton lot) handling it that way but not the likes of EVGA or Corsair. Damn, sticking up for Corsair again!! Not been drinking either!!

I've read a number of posts from people who bought refurbed AX1200i premium power supplies(among others), from places like NewEgg, that came with a 12 month warranty and cost $130 - new retail about $310. Their AX1200i had a problem, they returned it to Corsair, and got a brand new one sent to them - and I've read about Corsair doing this with other supplies.

They might be refurbished ones and not brand new.

I'm not going to spend much time trawling through all the websites I've visited recently searching out every post I've read, but here's one -

I bought a newegg refurb around last october. I had a ebay bux credit for $26 that brought it down to almost $100. That price for a $330+ psu was amazing. Anyways it started shutting down my system randomly almost 2 months later. Talked to some other folks who bought some in the ssme thread and some others had the same issue. One guy told me he rma It no prob, since it comes with a 1 year warranty from corsair.

Anyway i threw my hx850 in the system lowered OC to 3.5 and started the rma. They approved it in less than an hour and i sent it out the next day. When they got it they updated the ticket with an eta of over a month

So i called cs cuz a month seemed a little ridiculous. The guy on the phone told me they had received a european unit lol. I really have no clue how i ended up with that was probably the reason for the wait. Luckily he told me he would put me down for a north american replacement. Ticket updated it shipped out the next day, pretty good cs experience. Got the replacement and it turned to be brand new! So i got a brand new ax1200i for around $130 including the broken psu to corsair. Damn happy if you ask me

This is all on a [email protected] and two fury x stock

Not saying it would happen, just what is stated in their T&C's.
