I have all Phanteks aRGB fans in my system and TBF there crap. im wanting to switch them to corsair if i can do it without spending a silly amount.
What is the control unit that works with the iCUE? i want to sync them with my ram.

I need 4 x 120mm and 2 x 140mm what model of fans do i need to match the controller, or do that all work with all the different controllers

Do you mean the commander pro? Corsair RGB fans are pricey compared to other RGB fans. I have owned the LL and the latest are the QL. They are also noisier than the old ML fans but you buy the QL or LL to make your setup stand out. While people who buy these fans don't expect them to be quieter than the ML or even Noctuas they do make your setup look nice if you like RGB.

The commander Pro is expensive and adds extra cost. I read your comment about switching to Corsair fans without spending a silly amount and this made me chuckle no offence. It gonna cost unless you can pick up some used. Factor in the commander pro and it soon escalates to quite a bit.

ICue software has improved over the years. But before it use to be terrible and I hated it so I never used corsair fans or their software.

I do believe the corsair controller works with most of the their own fans but not vice versa. I must say though I hate corsair approach to their cabling. one for RGB and one for the power of the fan. I wish they took Lian Li approach.

So in short to control the fans with iCUE I need the commander Pro? Do I need any other controller too? Or is that an all in one job done

I know iCUE is good that's why I said I want to use it.

If I can do the fans and controllers for under £200 I would be happy.

The cooling in my case is over kill so the fans would only ever sit at low speeds noise shouldn't be a problem. Right now I have 4 of the 6 fans set to off unless Gaming then they spin at about 800rpm

Edit

I've just seen all I need it the lighting node pro. That's a massive £12.

You don't need the commander pro to control corsair lights. You can get the basic icue one instead which is a fair amount cheaper yes.

I use the basic one for the corsair fans and you can use it for corsair ram too. :)

yes you can use the basic icue controller which I use which yes is a lot cheaper, I bought 2 rgb corsair fans and the controller and I'm very happy with it for my phanteks case too which also would control corsair rgb ram, the colours for the fans and ram yeah:) The icue only works with corsair items which you probably already knew anyway.
