Im returning my P67 deluxe board back for a cheque from another retailer and was
wondering how easy it was to get the black plastic sticy backplate off the motherboard,

Can I use it again etc?

Im sure quite a few people will have this problem due to the P67 chip issue and returns

Thanks

What do you mean P67?

Until i watched youtube video with instructions on how to put on the H50 cooler I had lots of problems. I must have taken the sticky back bit off a couple of times trying to follow the rubbish instructions that come with the H50.

Just gently ease it off, it takes a while but it does come off. I was able to reuse mine. :)

Could try a hairdryer to loosen the sticky pads.

Tried heat to soften pads but no joy have sent board back
For refund but now can anyone confirm what sticky pad i can
Use for backplate can it be any foam sticky pad or would it
Need to be heat resistant

Cheers

I have been advised by corsair that any non conductive sticky
Pad will do at 3mm thick should be ok also

Selotape velcro sticky strips makes it easier for removal the

Hi all,

Sorry to highjack this thread but I thought it would be better than starting a new one, plus as you guys all have the H50 you are more likely to be able to help me.

So I just got mine in the post along with the rest of my rig and am busy currently putting it together however I noticed that the H50 already has a layer of thermal paste on the CPU pad, did you all find that this paste was good enough or did you remove it and use something else like MX-3/4 etc?

I have always just used the h50 and 70
Supplied paste but since the p67 saga
I will clean my h50 and add artic silver 5
paste

Cheers

Also used the pre applied paste which worked ok but will be reapplying with arctic silver 5:)

When took mine off my P5Q it was a pig to remove. I ended up getting a razor and gently slicing thru the pad as close to the board as i dared.
