Am running Q9650 @4ghz on a P5Q-E in a nzxt phantom case.
Cooling is a Prolimatech Meg with push/pull Apache's.(Motherboard controlled fan speed)
Since installing the soundproofing kit load temps have increased from 50c approx to 67c approx which I do not find acceptable
Then again the noise level is a hell of a lot better.
Would mention that I would assume that one of the biggest contributors to the heat in the case will ,no doubt, be the 470
(cooled by Zalman
) .
Case cooling is 1 x 140 front + 2 x 120 side/front intake (all at bottom of case)
+ 2 x 200 roof and 1 x 120 rear exhaust.
(All fans except Prolim. are running min.speed)
Have a number of thoughts how to improve the cpu cooling and one was to swap the Prolimatech for the H50 - in my head I'm thinking that this will give a cleaner airflow to roof and back fans and shift the cpu heat much quicker
Or is my thinking totally flawed and I'm better installing a 120 fan directly in line with the Prolim. to pull air to it from the front of the case/?
