I recently RMA'd my titan goliath the second time due the temperature issues, the Akasa Nero that came with it would let it run up to 87 sometimes 90c. I requested a Corsair h50 to be fitted if it turnd out the cooler was the problem , they shipped it today saying that the cooler was the problem and i asked what the load temps were and was told the highest it reached was 73c but this was in there department which was cold , that it could get higher at room temp

Now when i look at corsair h50 setups at 3.40ghz surely it should be low 60s? i requested it to be added at the bottom rear 120mm fan in the antec 1200 and add the stop ontop of the rad for push pull.

this is worrying me cause i dont want it to come back and be running at 80c at 3.40 in the winter, and probaly a lot hotter in the summer. Could it be the processor thats to blame or the overclock? as far as i know the vcore was at 1.28 but if any other titan goliath owners know the overclock settings if they could post it would be awesome. I also seen a few posts of people with titan goliaths with the akasa nero getting load temps of 77ish , this means i will be getting the same cooling with a h50? :X

found a thread were a guy actually has his goliath running faster than mines by like 100mhz and is getting probaly about the same temps as i will if it was 73c in a cold warehouse

totally regret buying this system , everything has gone wrong for me :*(

All chips vary on their clocking abilities when manufactured even if its minor.
So it might just be that your chip is weak at overclocking?

P.S.
How much did it cost for you to post your goliath back to OC? Or did OC pay you back the cost to RMA it to them?

it was free , 1 year warranty . plus they shipped it to me on a saturday which is like 15 quid delivery which they paid so there pretty awesome

just hope its not a dud chip :( i'd have to rma for the 3rd time

would be awesome if anyone could comment on my problem , it really has been bothering me for a while

Oh and hitting 73/77 on a overclocked cpu at 100% load in prime 95 ect isnt anything to worrie about

yes they fit the h50 and shipped it out , should arrive today. im just worrying about if i wanted to overclock any higher it would be a problem

as for 77 im so amazed that the h50 only cools it that much when the guy in this thread has similar temps with his goliath but he's using the akasa nero

nero.http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?p=15596101

this is why im thinking maybe the cpu is to blame for high temps?

maybe lowering the vcore will help me?

i will update tomorrow on temps with the h50 from my bedroom ,

well im getting 69 max on core temp on a £400 watercooling setup, I know part of my problem is i need to reseat the cpu block and apply the paste better but there are a lot of factors in it.

I mean my heating is on full in my room! im sat here warm with my top off!
also the temp dial on my mobo might be inacurate?? who knows.
end of day if its stable, who cares?

please remember - a h50 is a single radiator solution, yes it can handle an i7

but please dont have unrealistic expectations from it
