I have a i5 2500k @4Ghz in a Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD4 with a Corsair H50 cooling it. What would be a good upgrade for water cooling to get some higher clocks. Would also like to water cool my ASUS Matrix HD7970 at a later date. Budget £150-200 :D

what case are you using at the moment? You should be able to push the chip further with your existing setup. (I had the same chip and board)

I would look to get yourself a 120.3 radiator if you can, to allow for you to be able to wc the GPU later. I would initially install a 120.3 rad with a CPU only loop. But again I think your other restricting factor will be budget. if you extend to £227 you could get a tech lab bundle. Then later you could add to it for your GPU (2 extra fittings and the correct block)

for just about £200 a tech lab 240 kit would solve your current question of an upgrade, but I would not want to run a 7970 and a 2500k on a 240. - it is possible and would still be better than your H50

I assumed you were thinking custom water.

As skylineboy said you cannot go wrong with Tecklab series. The 280 (~£202)

looks good value for money, but personally I could have gone for the 360

Yes bit more expensive, but you might have the need to crossfire the cards later on :D
And 6 fans on Push-Pull config going to provide good solution.

As for the GPU, the Asus Matrix is not reference design. So you probably need a specialised waterblock product like the EK-FC7970 Matrix Full Cover water block.

Hi guys thanks for the info but think i'm going to give water cooling a bit more thought as I don't really have the time at the moment. Going to upgrade the H50 with 100i for the time being and see what I can push my CPU with that.

The H50 in push-pull config was working pretty well all those years with both the Q6600 and the [email protected].

If you have only 1 fan, you should consider to put a high flow one for push and the corsair for pull.
(and clean it because it gets dirty easily)
