I was wondering, If you had a Corsair H50 and through no fault of your own (faulty unit) it leaked and fried your system, would Corsair be responsible?
Would they also be obliged to replace the broken components?
Just wondering really. :)

Corsair as got abit strong on that now

u will need to prove that it wasn't a user error and even then Corsair could still say no.

also i think they own replace they own parts

I think they would only consider replacing your broken parts if you got an independent expert to prove that the failing of their parts damaged the other parts - even then there is probably a get out clause for Corsair in the guarantee terms and conditions. After all use of most things is at owners risk as we all know the dangers or risks involved.

Ok, has anyone had theirs break and damage something else?
Or am I just being paranoid?

This was my first build and I dont want to do anything that might put my components at risk.

Make sure your shut down temp is et reasonable in the bios as if it fails your chip will heat up pretty quickly so you want your board to shut down so you know something is fubar.

don't recall any issues other than noisey pumps (prob air). Mine has had some beating and is still going strong.

So one user with a reported leak? Hardly constitutes much.

dandos - not sure on shut down temp as never used a modern amd chip. Either google chip and find out or search forum / post in cpu section.

I know what you mean. I have seen the damage that water can do to electronics and the idea of that happening in my case is not a good one.
I just thought that it would be quieter than air cooling.

Your call, I bit of leccy and water can be a good thing.... anyway I digress.

I'd have thought more systems had been damaged with the great big heavy chunk of metal hsf falling / shearing off than cosair h50 have leaked on.

You lot are not making this easy :)

Apparently I have the choice of possibly spraying liquid over my components or having the hsf rip my motherboard in half!

How am I meant to decide now? ;)

Watercooling in my view if done right and all necessary precautions /checks are made plus maintenance should not be any more risky than other forms of cooling. Yes of course you could be unlucky and spring a leak etc, but hey you could also be run over by a bus tomorrow.

As all things in life you need to keep a perspective.

Are you trying to make me agoraphobic as well? ;)

I’m just a little worried about it as this is the first time I have built a pc and don’t want to break anything yet because there is no way I could justify spending more money to the other half. :)

No of course not Lol. I am simply saying that maybe you are worrying about it too much - be cautious and careful by all means, but sometimes to get what you want in life you have to take a little risk every now and then.
