I have a H50 attached to my OCUK core i7 920 and gigabyte EX58-UD5 mobo. I've noticed that there isn't a whole lot of airflow when under 100% cpu load. It does speed up a fraction from idle to 100% but not what I would have expected. How do I check rpm of the fan and/or pump?
I have also checked for dust in the radiator and it's clean.

The pump should be attached to a sys_fan socket so that stays at the same speed. Fan for rad should be attached cpu_fan socket, making it variable. My H50 sits at ~1250rpm and goes up to around 1500rpm when cpu is @100%. Putting my hand to it, it doesnt feel like its doing much, but my 4ghz 920 doesnt go above 74c with this cooler.

CPUID's HW Monitor should do the trick for looking at fan speeds.

Hope this helps.

Use HW Monitor to check your temps too. When under load they shouldn't really go above 75c, max 80c. If your cpu is exceeding these temps then make sure it is installed correctly (sat nicely with some good thermal paste, fan blows cool air from outside, through the rad into the case). If temps still exceed, then think about sending it back.

A lot of people have had problems with these and they certainly don't cool as well as corsair say it should but tbh im happy with my 38c idle, 58c gaming load and 70c odd full load temps.

Mine is sitting at around 47 to 50 t idle ... temperature inside the house is 17 degrees ... I'll get that program and see what rpm it's doing .... out of interest, what are your bios settings if it's not a rude question .... PM me if you want :D

lol, asking my to show my private parts ;)

I've got some photos.... of my BIOS. PM me your email address and ill send em over to you. Probably have to be tomorrow now as I'm just about to leave the house. What mobo you got and what ram you using?

the h-50 is only as good as a high end air cooler but takes up less space...i had one and my 920 sat about 30c idle and about 65c full load. if you were to put a quality fan like an apache front and back of the thing sucking for outside through and in to the case i think it would make a big difference to it.... when fitted right and working its quite a neat piece of kit. when fitting it half a pea sized blob of artic silver 5 is all you need in the middle of the chip....i wiped of there paste that came on it.

Oh yeh, remove stock thermal paste from teh H50, it is crap. If you're cpu came pre-pasted (oc usually do) then get rid of that too. Then apply some Arctic Silver MXcoolness. Seriously makes a lot of difference. Just be careful not to catch the paste when you pop the pump back on. the h50 bracket is amongst the worst i have ever worked with.
