Hi All

I am thinking of getting this closed loop water cooler.

Is this a good option to go for? Does anyone have any expierences with this pump?

The reason that I am thinking of getting this over the H80i is that I really do not want to install one of the fans outside the case. Plus helps me save some £££ :)

So overall, worth getting this? Any advice welcome.

Many thanks

You don't need to install any of the fans outside the case with the H80i. The H60i isn't an alternative to the H80i, it'll be a fair bit worse.

Oh right, i was told that inside the case you use 1 fan with the radiator, then the other fan sits outside.

So the H80i, still the better option?

Yes, it's the better option. Both fans go on the radiator and they are installed inside the case.

OK i didnt realise that. It just looked really big.......

Im not a hardcore gamer, would the H60 suffuce? Im thinking the H80i may be overkill for my use.

Are you overclocking at all? You might find a cheaper air cooler is better in that they are more reliable, and can perform just as well without being as loud.

£60 is a lot for a H60 when an air cooler for half the price performs better.

i may be some help here as i have a H60 ..it came with a second hand rig i buy...
1st of all when it comes down to it ALL cooling systems are air cooled, their has to be a point when the heat leave the cooling fin and transfers to the outside world namely the air.
so the the size of the fins is important whether the heat gets to them vier water or copper heat pipes as on a air cooler
If you look at the fin capacity on the H60 its aprox less than 1/3 that of many air coolers, my sons ocz air cooler that looks like a block of flats with 120mm fan strapped to them to name but 1 (£14 on offer here or some place last year)
Now my H60 is cooling a AMD 8150 with a mild overclock of 4.320mhz and its keeping it 42c but the fan is flat out and i can hear it in the next room!!
My sons rig has a AMD 1090t overclocted to 4.1ghz and with the fan all the way down so you can not hear it with your head close the case and keeps it at 48c with 100% cpu
Here is a review (very long) of the H100i cannot believe the guy gave it a gold award when he had to stop the test as his 2011 rig was going to melt with the 4.6ghz test
Me i wold get a mid priced air cooler(i think you pay to much for that last 1 or 2c with the £50+ ones) or a proper water cooled set up

I will most probably overclock at some stage.. Not sure yet...

Whats a good air cooler to go for as i know nothing about these.

Thanks

I can't fault my H60 2013 Edition so far, as long as you use it as in intake rather than exhaust the temps are great. You must have a well ventilated case though otherwise it will heat up fast.

I was playing Far Cry 3 today at 4.2ghz with a GTX470 overclocked to 820mhz producing loads of heat and the CPU temp never went over 40 degrees. The top half of my case does get warm due to the gpu but it doesn't bother the cpu.

It idles around 20-25 depending on room temp, sometimes it even drops below 20 if the room is cool.

I think thats pretty good to be honest from a thin rad and one (stock) fan in push..
