Corsair H70?

Thermalright Silver Arrow springs to mind, not quite 1/2 the price, but close enough lol.

But that is a big cooler though and may interfere with memory, so thats where the
h50/70 come into it really, if memory with high heatsinks are used.

H70 £88.99 (ocuk price, Cheapest iv seen is £69.99 from a store iv never heard of so would'nt trust it)

So like i said its not half the price, but its one hell of a saving for a cooler that will cool better, but is huge, and won't fit in all cases, or with high heatsink memory.

Not knocking the H70 as it will fit generally in most cases, has no issues with memory sizes, just my point is if you can fit the big air coolers, they are better, and cheaper, but not every one can. This is where the h50/h70 are very handy.
 
I would personally question the OP's motivations, you said you dont like the size of your mahhoooisve cpu cooler ... because well its massive. This is a bad reason to change it, change it for lower temps, or our resident don rjk said to truely investigate water cooling as a sport, or even change it for a cpu cooler you find cosmetically more appealing, but all the good ones are big, and big is not a problem, big is a shining symbol of the size of your manhood and also coincidentally the best way to dissipate heat quickly :P

All joking aside i'd say just look for a nice air cooler you like the look of, or get a low profile cooler with a med-high TDP, just don't overclock beyond its thermal limits if you try at all.

I would suggest something like the scythe big shuriken since its more flush to the mobo than a tower cooler, but your sacrificing performance for a preference if you trend this way.
