Hi,

Just wondering if anyone else has installed a H80 - I've attached the backplate but the screws that connect to the backplate wobble and feel loose even though they can't be tightened any further. Feels wrong to me but it might be correct?!

Cheers

I've just installed a couple of H100's and they do wobble a bit on the intel.

Actually whilst here how do you find the H80, i'm thinking of getting another H100 or the H80 for my HafX case, with the H80 what direction do you have fans, in or out.

With the HafX can't be bothered to remove top fans, wondered if i can still keep them if i went with the H100.

Ive installed 2 corsair h80's and the backplate doesnt budge. They are simple to fit. You must be doing something wrong if you are saying that it is loose. Maybe using the wrong screws.

It's not actually the backplate as such - more the screws that attach from the top side through into the backplate. They still have some wobble when tightened fully. I did a bit more googling and apparently it's normal.

As soon as the block is attached and tightened nothing wobbles at all, so I presume it' by design.

Haven't fully built my new rig yet, but I'll let you know how it goes with cooling. All the images for the H80 show the fans in a configuration that would bring air from outside the back of the case in. But I'm installing it in a Silverstone FT02 which only has the 1x 12cm exhaust - so instead I've configured both fans to exhaust the air out the back.

I'll see how it goes!

I had to take my first H80 back to the shop as the pump kept dropping to under 150rpm. I saw my poor cpu get to 98dec under coretemp!!! It sounded like a bloody fish bowl too. Got a replacement tho....

I had this issue too, it seems to boil down to the motherboard not being thick enough, so the screws reach the end of their thread before they're actually pinching the motherboard. I just used some metal washers (the correct side of the plastic insulation of course!!)

Corsair H80 installation

Recently my machine shut down automatically and unable to reboot, it tried to reboot itself number of times but most of the time it failed. My first suspicion was Corsair H80 CPU Cooler then my SATA cables. My computer case is Thermaltake Level 10 it has 6 HDDs. Every time I have this problem I do check the SATA cables, it looks like it fixed the problem. However yesterday I got the same problem again.

I followed the instruction of installing Corsair H80, today I change the fan direction that is against the instruction. Now I got about 3/4C cooler than before. I think the configuration of H80 should be depend on the case we use.

I have used the H50, H70, H100 and with the fans I always have them blowing air out of the case. This slows down the build up of dust in the rad.
