Hi

I was given a corsair h80 cooler and it was part of a build that I got rid of but kept the cooler.

Ive never installed on before so I just plugged everything in as you do but it has no life.

I've got 2 fans to the cooler from the 4 pin fan splitter that's coming out of the cooler.
Then there's another cable coming out of the side that I've plugged back in. At the other end of that there's 9 pin connector that's attached to a USB which ive also plugged in.
Another cable coming out of the cooler that's a 3 pin fan header (plugged that into the mobo) and some other connector that I've never seen before.

Any ideas were I'm going wrong?

sounds like you have the H80i. do you have any pictures? theres normally a power cable that plugs into a sata power connector on the PSU

Yeah just sorted it. The data cable looked wider and I didn't know you needed a sata power for them.

Knew i should have stuck to air or a proper loop haha.

Thanks for the reply

glad you got it sorted.

I went from the H80i to the Phanteks PH-TC14PE and I must admit im getting better temp's and my machine is quieter :D

I built a machine for my mate and the H80i went away in that. hes happy with it but I prefer a good air cooler.

Yeah I'm glad I got it sorted. Put a hoir on my build time lol

Is there a way to slow the fans down? There at 2000 rmp according to bios.
if you install the corsair link software you'll be able to control them. the fan speed in the bios will be the pump speed though.

It doesn't detect the fans with that.

I put one on the cpu fan head so I can control that on atleast.

Ive plugged the pump into the USB header as well. Might try the connector and plug it into the USB and the back of the motherboard
