Hi,

I've just installed a H80 and it's very loud, when I press the digital fan speed button on the block, nothing happens, the light changes but the fan speed does not. Any idea why that would be?

I've tried plugging the cooler into the CPU_FAN and CPU_OPT inputs but that makes no difference. The fans are plugged into the CPU block as per instructions.

The fans are running at 2100 RPM and cpu is 25 degrees.

I'm using a i5 4670k and Gigabyte Z87-D3HP

Please help! :)

edit: Just tried resetting firmware as per instructions here:

1. While the computer is running, hold down the profile button for approximately five seconds
2. Wait one minute, while the unit continues to run
3. Shut down your computer
4. Press and hold the profile button for five seconds while turning on the power to your computer.

But it made no difference.

Does the h80 support corsair link? if not then I would try configuring your cpu fan thresh holds in the bios so hopefully it wont be so high at low temps.

Yes it does support it, but as far as I can tell I need to buy a special cable to use Link? I shouldn't have to buy something extra to do something it should do out of the box :p

once uv changed it leave it alone for afew mins, set it at one let it settle then set it at 3. it will make a noticeable change. if it doesn't you controller may be broken and RMA it :)

I've left it on setting 1 for at least 30 mins and just changed it to setting 3 again, no change. I think I'll have to RMA :( Thanks

I've plugged the fans directly into the motherboard and now it's near silence! Such a huge difference.

I've looked in CPUID and I don't understand the fan RPM:

It says one fan is 2100 rpm and another is 1000 rpm.

Also pretty much same temp which is good :)
