Just got my H80i. Can anyone point me towards the firmware for it? I have the the Corsair link software 2.2. I'm hoping the latest firmware will fix the noise this thing makes as the buzzing/rattle noise is irritating.

Mine has turned up today as well tho I am at work so haven't got round to fitting it yet.

What firmware has it currently got. I read in multiple places that the recent versions were shipping with 1.0.5

Don't try flashing the firmware, even if you have a prob that needs fixing. You're likely to brick it, or at the very least turn the buzzing into a whine.

Even if you find a copy of the firmware don't do it.

Wait until the Corsair site lists a new firmware and software.

If you have 1.0.5 you a lucky b**ger. no need for a flash. If it's earlier than 1.0.4 then wait til the 1.0.5 is officially released.

Corsair themselves withdrew the 1.0.4 download because of these very problems.

I have firmware 1.00. Turns out the fans are what is making the pump buzz/hum/rattle. Put my 2xcorsair sp120's in and the noise is gone. I also don't like all the wires you have to plug in, it doesn't look very tidy.

Sod it, unplugged it all and uninstalled the corsair link and the usb cable and plugged my two fans into my fan controller. I might try again once 1.05 comes out, if i can be bothered. What a let down.

I'll just use it like i used my old H60.

Shouldn't be too long. Corsair are already releasing coolers with the 1.0.5 firmware so they must release soon.

But when these units work right they are bloomin brilliant.

installed my h80i last week, there is a slight rattle with the fans, although putting the settings down to quiet stopped that. I agree there are a lot of cables but with a bit of management its not too bad. Only thing I find every 10mins or so the fans just kick in quicker and noisier for about 10 secs and then go back to normal. Likely due to the Link software as its working but they said Win8 not fully supported yet. Dont get too worried installing it, good luck. Oh i hear that hopefully soon they will send newer fans out to users.. who knows

I decided to install the 1.4 firmware, found it eventually. Well the rattle has been replaced with a quieter hum. Its much less annoying but the noise is still there. I'm thinking about DSR'ing this though it just doesn't work as it should.

There is mention of new fans via RMA on the Corsair forums, but no action on it yet as far as I can see. My fans are a bit whiney, but not too loud to annoy. I can wait.

This hum that i talk of is coming from the unit itself/ the pump. I really want this cooler to work but this noise is going to annoy me so im gonna have to send it back i think. Will see what bailey says in the cs section.

EDIT

Its not really a hum, more of an electrical buzzing sound.

Well I installed mine when I got home and what a pain in the ass. Horrible system which I hope I will be able to get a full refund from overclockers. Went in with a slight issue but then when booting loud clunking noise. I went to remove to start the whole process again and that's when things went wrong. Trying to disconnect the fan control cable and the pins came out but the header remained in the cool block. Finally got that out with some tweezers but all the pins had bent underneath. Then removed it from the mobo and one of the screws snapped off.

Absolute bloody nightmare as was not impressed. Very poor build quality I think. Never had any issues with any other products in my machine. Hopefully I will be able to get a refund and reinvest the money in a tower air cooler and low profile ram from overclockers of course.

I feel your pain my friend. I managed to get around the huming noise by ditching the corsair link software and using my recon fan controller instead. Still not sure if i will keep it or not though.

Got an RMA number from Overclockers and will be sending it off today. What are they like for RMA's in terms of speed and outcomes?

Good, Bailey has always looked after me. Only rma'd a couple of things so far but all has been well. I've heard that corsair release new firmware next week so if that works then ill keep my h80.

I was thinking of picking up one of these but after all the issues you mention with regards to rattling and humming etc it seems quite common so gonna wait for the new swiftech h220 or try the NZXt Kracken i think :)

Yeah i don't blame you liam. I think this will be great once its fixed. As i say the firmware comes out in a few days so maybe hang tight and ill post back here and see how it goes.

Cool sounds like a good idea Matt, i'll hang fire and see how you get on. I take it if it doesnt sort out your issues you still have enough time to DSR? Wouldn't wanna see you lose your £££

If you have a fan controller and some other fans you'll be ok. If you're relying on the corsair software/fans its goodnight vienna. When the new firmware+software comes out ill try it.

As i have a fan controller and i just ordered two gentle typhoons 1850 rpm i doubt i will send it back even if the new firmware doesn't work well. The problem only occurs if you use the usb connection+default fans. Take those two out and the rattling or buzzing goes.

Anyway ill let you know either way at some point next week.
