Corsair H80i

Hello.

Can anyone recommend the Corsair H80i? I have noticed then can be picked up for £50 second hand which is the same as a new heatsink. I do like the look of the Corsair Hydro's and im very tempted by one to replace my stock amd phenom heatsink/fan.

Most of all with it fit my Xigmatek Asgard I case?

i was looking at getting a corsair H cooler second hand as i couldn't afford new, but then i thought.. wait, no warranty, and if it goes nuts on me, wtf will i then ?.. so i decided to get a new air cooler :)

my opinion.. go new.! save up, warranty is a wallet saver!

True. I may as well stick to air then for the money. I was tempted by one for the clean look really. I know air coolers can be just as good its just the appearance.

I've had a H80i and a H100i. THey're really nice cpu coolers. Clean, smart, great for keeping case temps low. I'd recommend them, fit them with a couple of Gentle Typhoon 1850rpm fans (assuming you have a fan controller) and bobs your uncle.

Found a h80i second hand with 4 years warrenty left but he wanted £60 which is a little too much for me right now. Ive seen a few air coolers which get good reviews on amazon for around £25 new.

Arctic Cooling Freezer 13, coolmaster 212 etc. Probably better going higher end but second hand, right?

iv just got a corsair A50, and added an extra fan (dosnt take one but modded to make it fit), and to be honest, its a outstanding cooler.

keeps my fx6300 under load at 41-43c.

they are pretty cheap too, picked mine up from a local store for £22 inc VAT.

So tempted buy a water cooled one. I really should treat myself. Ive been finished college 2 years and just managed to get in an IT job! :p

For me personally they were, on a fan controller they were a lot better but at the same time didn't push as much air when the RPM was reduced (obvious I know :p).

I prefer the GT1850's because they shift a lot more air at lower RPMs through the radiator, the tone is a lot more pleasant at the higher RPMs, I even like the rugged looks of them! I've got two 1850s on my radiator and three 1450s as case intake fans, suppose you could call me a fan boy but I think they are the best fans I have ever used in a PC. :cool:

Well I originally wanted an air cooler but I noticed you can get the h80i's for £60 second hand with warrantys still left. If I need to spend more like £80/£90 ile go stick with air.
 
Don't get me wrong, the fans that come with it are more than capable. If anything you can plug them into the H80i and control them through the corsair link software.

This. GT's are the dogs. I love the look of them as well. I only have two on my H100i but if possible id swap all my case fans for them as well. The powerful focused airflow from a GT can't be beat at its low noise.

I use the corsair low noise high pressure at 1450 rpm. In tests with lots of fans the low noise 1450 fans came on top. As for controlling speed with fan control I don't use controller the corsair commander works fine for me. I can put the speed to what ever I want and the fans so super quiet and have great CPU temps.
