So I just looked at my order history and it's 9 years old. It started life running a X58 rig, now it's running X99. It's never skipped a beat and been rock solid to be fair.

has anyone been to double digit years before with a psu and no problems. Or should i change asap?

If it works why change it. I've just wasted £85 "upgrading" my 6 year old PSU for absolutely 0 gain. Everything works exactly as it did before.

I've got 2 pc power and cooling psu's. One is 10 yo, the other is 7 yo. Both work solid and stable. I'm currently using the 7 yo silencer mkii. I tried to upgrade recently because of its age. I got a seasonic focus 850w one but it only lasted 1 week then went down on me so now I'm going through the rma process with overclockers. So I'm back using the silencer like I said. Its rock solid and stable despite its age. Once I get a replacement for the seasonic one, I plan on giving the silencer to my ex wife for a build I'm doing for her. If it works and you know its stable and solid, then theres nothing to worry about.

I had a 1000W corsair in my current build (a first gen i7). It will be 11 years old in a few weeks.
It was technically still "working" (and also running the exact same installation of win7) but I was getting random reboots, drive failures and black screens.
I have replaced it with a 850 HX (and also upgraded to win10) and its working great again.

Not really sure what to do with the old one. It still works, but I wouldn't trust it in any kit and it must have loads of reusable recyclable components in it.

The wifes pc has a Enermax Pro 82+ 385w powering it which is around 11 years old now. It's never stressed though as it's only powering a 4670k at stock with onboard graphics. The next rebuild to AM5 and whatever APU they launch will see it upgraded to a 250-350w gold rated unit.

Meaning problems in either voltage regulation or ripple, or both.
PSUs just don't tell when those are starting to go bad.
And then it also depends on PC parts, and likely also possible overclockings to edge, how out of whack and PC parts torturing those can be before there are "visible" signs.

That PSU was good quality for the time, with good design and quality capacitors.
So don't see why it couldn't survive even up to 20 years in such light use.

Some light regular use is even good for electrolytic capacitors compared to having them just sitting "cold" (without any applied voltage) for years at time.
