Hi,

Just installed the above PSU in my new case but find that I have to install the hard drives upside down in order for the SATA power connectors to be in the correct orientation to mate with the modular power cables that came with the PSU when routing them from the bottom. Surely this cant be right? I need to be able to mount the drives the correct way so that my 90deg SATA data cables point down and not up (having to use normal cables at the moment and bend them!). Quite clearly to me the power connectors on the modular cables *must* be orientated the wrong way around. I didnt have this problem in my last case as I mounted the PSU in the top of the case and the cable run was top to bottom. Now with the PSU in a more normal location, I need to run the cables bottom to top but its impossible without turning the drives upside down.

Has anyone else ever experienced this?

The HX620W is 10 years old now. Back in those days top mounted PSUs were super common so the connected were orientated to fit that way round. Newer PSUs are the other way round as modern cases mount the PSU at the bottom.

new PSU it is then :-) Any recommendations? This was a great PSU so no issue with sticking with Corsair. Something around the 800watt range to give me a little headroom with things should I decide to add another graphics card
