Hi guys

Ive had a problem with my sons system for weeks with shutdowns restarts etc to get it started i had to pull the power lead out and restart

The problems started when i bought him a Second hand Psu and a new graphics card

Well on friday after loads of shut downs i put the old crappy psu 300w one and its run fine ever since

After checking the Corsair ive noticed i have a power supply from the US according to the corsair website, i have a CMPSU-650HX Instead of a CMPSU-650HXUK could that be my problem??

Im Rma it but i want to be sure its def faulty before i send it back

Would Corsair send me out some 6 pin cables as it could be them and i could test it with some new ones

Any other suggestions to test it?

Thxs

see the vid below.

It wouldnt surprise me that it needed to be RMA'd. it would have go to Holland & that costs around £20.

Just a update

I did the video test

But when i turned the psu on the fan light lit up but did not spin it was trying to spin but didnt. When i turned the psu of the fan started spinning then

So does that mean its faulty and needs a return?

Those answers I wouldn't know, not without asking Corsair 1st.

there's a couple of Corsair reps that post on here & other PC related forums, called redbeard, yellowbeard & greybeard. They should know the answers to your questions. :)

Just been fxxked over tried to RMA my Psu and got told

We apologize, but purchasing from ebay is not one of our authorized resellers. Our warranty is non-transferable, which purchasing from ebay can be from a 3rd party. We are unable to honor the warranty without an authorized receipt.

So much for a 7 year warranty

What Bull

Well it never used to be like that. All Corsair wanted in the past was a date of purchase & what vendor. I suppose they've had to tighten up the procedure, as the old system was open to abuse.
